Greg Gottesman is Managing Director and co-founder of Pioneer Square Labs, a Seattle-based studio that creates and launches startups. He is also a Venture Partner of Madrona Venture Group, where he served for 18 years as a Managing Director. Mr. Gottesman currently sits on the boards of Rover.com, Spare5, and LumaTax, among other startups. He is the founder and former CEO of Rover.com. Mr. Gottesman is also the author of three books and an adjunct faculty member of the University of Washington Computer Science and Engineering Department where he teaches a class on entrepreneurship. Mr. Gottesman graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors and distinction from Stanford University, with honors and distinction from the Harvard Business School, and with honors from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.
Marion is a tech business developer based in Seattle, WA. She runs developer education partnerships for Alexa, the voice service powering Amazon's popular Echo devices. Before joining Amazon two years ago, Marion coordinated Global Startup Battle in 2012 and managed partner relations for Startup Weekend in Seattle. A Startup Weekend veteran, Marion has facilitated 20+ competitions in France, Canada, the US, Algeria and Morocco. She's also been a judge at hackathons (StudentRND's Code Day, Protohack) and a mentor at several Startup Weekends. Marion holds a Master's in Business Management from EDHEC Business School and an MBA in Technology Commercialization from the University of Alberta. Dr. Leong was the Founder and Director of the Center for Student Entrepreneurship at the University of Washington - Bothell and during his tenure, was honored with multiple teaching awards from the students. He serves as Member of Advisory Board at Immusoft Corporation. He serves as Member of Advisory Board at Spiral Genetics, Inc. He is regularly quoted in newspapers around the country. Dr. Leong is an active professor at the University of Washington and serves as the Director of the Student Venture Associates Program for the "W" Fund at the Center for Commercialization. Dr. Leong is a member of Sigma Xi. Dr. Leong holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from The University of Southern California; an MSE in Engineering from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Management and Systems Science from Simon Fraser University.
Karen in currently COO at C+C, a national social marketing and public relations firm that focuses on social issues for both the public and private sectors. Prior to that, Karen spent 17 years as president & owner of an aerospace company, 2 years as CFO & VP Development at international non-profit UP Global (creator of Startup Weekend) and was VP of Finance at Techstars. Her areas of expertise include finance, marketing, strategic thinking, systems and people management. Karen is a proud UW Husky, a CPA (inactive) and has an MBA from Seattle University.
